Cape Henry Collegiate School

Cape Henry Collegiate School (also known as Cape Henry or CHCS) is an independent coeducational school in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Founded in 1924 as the Everett School by Mrs. R.C. Everett, the school enrolls over 1,000 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. The Everett School was renamed Cape Henry Collegiate School in the early 1980s. The current headmaster, Dr. Jack Lewis, replaced Dan Richardson in 2002. Notably, Dr. Jack Lewis raised funding for the 2007 state-of-the-art Science and Technology Center which garnered local news acclaim when its seismograph picked up a recent earthquake in Iran.

Athletics

In the fall of 2008, CHC finished at the top of the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools in field hockey, girls' tennis and both male and female volleyball. In addition, CHC won two private school state championships in 2008. In 2010, the Boys Baseball Team won their first ever State Championship. In 2011 the girls field hockey, and volleyball teams won the State Championship.
